Bio
With years of private legal practice and work as a former Assistant District Attorney, Kaavya offers PilieroMazza clients a fulcrum approach to handling litigation and dispute resolution matters. She represents clients from a broad array of industries in sophisticated commercial litigation at the state and federal levels, bringing a global perspective informed by her law degree from India.
In 2024, Kaavya was named to the Pittsburgh Business Times‘ “30 Under 30” list. The list honors leaders in Pittsburgh’s business and nonprofit communities who are under 30 years old and have a proven track record of success and community involvement. She was selected by a panel of judges and the Pittsburgh Business Times‘ editorial staff.
Kaavya dedicates time to pro bono work and has volunteered at the U.S.-Mexico border, representing migrants, primarily women, seeking asylum. In the past, Kaavya has also successfully represented an incarcerated individual in mediation of his civil rights claims in the Western District of PA. Last year, Kaavya graduated from United Way’s “Connect U” Program, an 8-week program for young professionals to engage with community leaders and develop philanthropic leadership skills. In her free time, Kaavya also mentors law students from underrepresented backgrounds and advises middle school students on careers in law.
Kaavya speaks fluent Hindi and Tamil.
